I am looking for Gourmet Food Stores and local Farmers Markets in the Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Port Mackay, Cairnes and Darwin areas of Australia. This can include stores that sell fresh produce, meat, fish, relishes, truffles, chocolate and all other delicious items. I am also looking for good florists.
What are the best gourmet food stores and markets in the main centres of Australia?
Bondi Junction has an organic fruit and veg market on Fridays and the former Fox Studios (now Entertainment Quarter) have 2 every week... every Wednesday and Saturday....
David Jones in the City and at Bondi Junction has a great gourmet deli and on Bronte Road, Waverley (Charring Cross) there are several gourmet deli and a great health food store with gourmet products as well as a fantastic florist....
There is a Macros in Crows Nest and Bondi Junction which has loads of great organic products..
Reply:What about Perth? This is Boomsville and werve got it going on!! The Fremantle markets are really diverse, interesting and fresh!!
Reply:Personally I prefer the smaller international delicatessans for gourmet foods there are many around in any city or suburb, also harris farm markets have a good variety of some gourmet foods. Florists, I find flowers at fresh markets the best and arranging my own, the flowers are usually alot fresher and last longer, also are cheaper than buying from a retail florist.
Reply:I recommend Flour Power for bread and cakes etc in Dutton Park in Brisbane. Gourmet European goods made by an artisan baker.
He looks scary, but he's not.
Reply:What a worry for you! I live in a bush town where there are no restaurants, and we can't even grab a pizza. I wouldn't live anywhere else though, but sometimes I do miss going out for dinner, as I am from Sydney. God I miss seafood! These days do people in cities really eat that funny stuff I read about in magazines?

This is an 911 emergency?
a local florist is making two types of floral arrangements for thanksgiving: regular and special. Each regular arrangement requires 3 mums, 3 daisies, and 2 roses, and each special arrangement reguires 4 mums, 2 daisies, and 4 roses. The florist has set aside 60 mums, 54 daisies, and 52 roses for the two types of arrangements,
The florist will make a profit of $2 on each regular arrangement and $3 on each special arrangement.
1. write an objective function for the profit.
2. Create a system of inequalities to represent the constraints. Graph the feasible region.
3. identify the vertices of the feasible region.
4. how much of each type of arrangement should the florist make in order to maximize the profit? what is the maximum profit?
5. If the maximum profit is achieved, will there be any flowers left over? Explain your reasoning.

Do you know the fable about the boy who cried "wolf"?
Reply:I'm not doing your homework for YOU. What is it you don't understand? Or, are you just too lazy to do it? By asking no questions, and simply putting the assignment, it appears to me that you just want someone to do it for you. And, maybe someone will...but it won't be ME. I've paid my dues...now it's your turn!

Valentine's Day is coming up. I would like to send an arrangement of roses and lilies to a friend in another
country. I live in the States and she lives in Europe. Yesterday, I did a quick search on Yahoo and contacted about 20 different local florists in Europe. This morning, I received about 15 responses. My question is, how do you choose which one to go with? Do you judge by the kindness in their email, the pricing, or another factor?
Please help me decide what criterias I should use to make my decision. Thank you!

Obviously you are very smart beacuse you are using a local florist instead of a service that just takes the order and "wires" it to the actual florist. Search for florists in the area that you wish to send flowers to. Use the one whose designs and style match your and your friends taste.
Best Wishes!!

Reply:Do any of them have websites that let you see the arrangement that you're sending? I'd go with the one that does - I like to see what I'm giving people as a gift...
If not - Who got back to you first? If they're that responsive to an overseas customer online, I'd feel like they'd be pretty reliable about delivering the flowers.
And I must say... awww... that's so sweet! :) I bet she'll love them! :)
Reply:That is so sweet u can send me some to if u like. LOL
Reply:I am a florist here in Canada. If you want to be quaranteed she will recieve what you send try using 1-800-flowers Its an actual floral service and you will be happy with them.
It will be pricey no matter what but good luck!

My friend is looking to propose on sunday. we need rose petals fast!! and cheap if possible?
would the local florist have them? where could he go?
My friend is looking to propose on sunday. we need rose petals fast!! and cheap if possible?
Um, Sunday is Mother's Day. He's going to pay a premium price for roses and/or rose petals on one of the biggest flower giving days of the year, next to Valentine's Day.
So, as long as he doesn't care (and him mom isn't going to be PISSED OFF that he's not spending every waking second with the FIRST woman in his life), then he can go to any grocery store with a flower section, buy several dozen roses and start ripping the petals off the blooms. Costco and Sam's Club have roses in growers bunches of 25, just over 2 dozen. I don't think they jack up the price, just because it's a holiday, but I'm not sure.
BTW, I'm kidding about his mom being pissed off, but seriously, the cost will be about double if he gets the flowers at a regular flower shot this weekend.
Reply:It's not going to be cheap to have rose petals quickly for Sunday since Sunday is Mother's Day. Florists may be a bit on the busy side.
The best bet would be to call around to find the best price for a boat load of roses and take the petals off yourselves.
Reply:Go to a rose garden or nursery. We got married at one and they sold big buckets of petals (already as petals - so you don't have to do anything yourself) for $50 (AUD). Ask about at the nurserys and see what they can do.
Reply:the cheapest way to by them is to pickup a doz. at a grocery store that has a flower dept. and just peal the petals off each of the flower heads.
Reply:Go to the grocery store and buy a few bunches of roses and just take the petals off them.
That's all the flower shops are going to do.
Reply:Go to a florist now and tell them to save what they take off the roses they put in mothers day bouquets (they always take off the first couple petals that hang...used to work at one)
Reply:Some grocery stores actually sell just rose petals in with the roses in the cooler section where they keep flowers.
Reply:I bought boxes of rose petals at albertsons the day before my wedding and they were beautiful. And they were only $1 a box!! I'm IN Texas... Good Luck!
Reply:Cradt stores like Michael's,Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, etc...
Reply:Walmart has them in the weddings section of the crafts section!
Reply:I went to Wal-mart today and saw some in red and in white and they were cheap maybe 4 dollars
Reply:local florist should!
Reply:Try visiting an AC Moore or Michaels. They're two big Craft stores in North America. Good Luck!

Where can I find a flower wholesaler to supply fresh flowers every week for my small Hotel in Horley, Surrey?
The local florist charges too much, all I need is weekly fresh flower supply. I will do the arrangements myself. I would need about 80 stems, and 20 foliage/grass per week. Any help would be appreciated
Where can I find a flower wholesaler to supply fresh flowers every week for my small Hotel in Horley, Surrey?
Most cut flowers are sold through the flower market (Bloemenmarkt) at Aaalsmeer in Holland and consignments are shipped throughout Europe to florists and commercial resellers. There are 10 or so florists around and about you in Horley, Redhill %26amp; Reigate so you could visit each one and ask them whether they would be willing to add an additional box to their order each week and you pay them cost plus a reasonable handling charge. This would ensure that your business doesn't go to a competitor and they get additional volume with the supplier (reducing their prices). You'll have to 'sell' the idea to them as I think the quantity you need is too small for a unique delivery to you. If you don't ask - you don't get! Good luck :-)
Reply:I always buy my fresh flowers from tesco. They always last me about 2 weeks, and I think they do a delivery as well That's if you have a tescos near you . good luck.
Reply:I would suggest you start with Tesco, but seriously consider adding a small greenhouse on your property if you can. Your climate is mild enough to order flowering plants and raise them year-round so you can get your 80 stems and 20 foliage cheaper. Or you can look up local nurseries and see who is raising stock for florists - if there is nothing local, than see what the delivery trucks say that pull up to the local florist and buy your stock directly from their supplier - why not? You will need to snoop around a little to find this out, but if they can deliver to that florist, they can come down the street and deliver to you as well. ;)
