Gift for a birthday
A fellow was very much in love with a beautiful girl. One day she told him that the next day was her birthday. He told her he would send her a bouquet of roses... one for each year of her life.
That evening he called the local florist and ordered twenty-one roses with instructions that they be delivered first thing the next morning.
As the florist was preparing the order, he decided that since the young man was such a good customer, he would put an extra dozen roses in the bouquet.
The fellow never did find out what made the young girl so angry with him.
Gift for a birthday?
Another good one. Thanks. Have a STAR.

Prom flowers?
I saw a picture of a corsage in the latest issue of seventeen prom. It was an orchid corsage, but instead of the flowers just being bundled up on top, they went all the way around the wrist like a bracelet. Can anyone tell me where I can find a picture of a corsage like this so I can take it to my local florist?
Prom flowers?
There are orchid wrislets on the bottom of this page
Reply:I don't know if any of these are exactly what you are looking for but here is a florist link:
Reply:Your local florist is gonna be pissed!!!
Reply:it sounds really basic just tell her u want an orchid bracelet select the bloom and its that simple no?
Reply:buy this issue of seventeen prom, cut out that picture, and take it to your local florist.

A guy just spent way too much on an FTD bouquet for me. Should I tell him where to buy flowers in the future?
I'm not complaining, but I don't think this is what he had in mind -- and their prices are pretty steep. If it were you, would you rather go on believing you sent what was in the picture, or have the number of a good local florist? I'd like to get more flowers from him in the future!
A guy just spent way too much on an FTD bouquet for me. Should I tell him where to buy flowers in the future?
it all depends on how you say it.
if you say it as "its the thought that counts, i love them, but i think you got ripped off" yes, you should tell him.
i would just thank him, tell him they are pretty and all that, then say, "anytime you need to send flowers to anyone, i think you will get a better deal here. you should try them next time."
making it clear that YOU are not demanding flowers from somewhere, that you are helping him buy flowers for ANYBODY for ANY reason, makes the difference.
if i sent you what i thought were long stem roses, and you got what looked dead weeds, i would want to know about. or if you knew a florist that had better deals, i would want to know about it.
it would also be nice to know she wants something cheaper, too many keep track of how much the guys spends. if he gets the best flowers for half price, she is insulted.
you could also thank him in person or by phone, then send an email, or just casually mention the better florist when you see him. separate the two issues to make it clear your not complaining.
guys need help, we dont shop. we just see it and buy it.
Reply:Dont say a word about that. Just show gratitude. This is how he is. It is a compliment to you. It is an education as to how he would be if you married him and you may not like that kind of extravagance. To tell him what you propose would be controlling, so that is an education to you about how you want to be in a relationship. So this is why we date, to learn.
Reply:Just sit back and smell the roses ...
Reply:Just thank him for the flowers. I think it would hurt his feelings if you mention them being too expensive.
Reply:Don't tell him it is the thought that counts. He will see it for himself when he gets to your house or office. I think it would just make him feel bad and make you look picky if you said anything. just accept his gift gratefully.
Reply:NO.....that would be tacky...let him do it on his own.....let him find out for himself.......he is a big boy.....
Reply:without mentioning the FTD gift.
Mention that you found these beautiful flowers at this local shop around the corner etc.. or take him there with you. show him what you like....Yes tell him politley
Reply:Thank him profusely! I wouldn’t mention anything about another florist because I think that kind of puts him on the spot. Like you’re expecting more flowers- (well yes, you are but he’s supposed to get that on his own). Guys are pretty smart. If the flowers are hurting his wallet pretty bad- you’d think he’d figure out how to save. Maybe he’d ask his buddies. Is there a buddy you could say something that would get to him in a roundabout way? Don’t think too much about it. Just enjoy them!
Reply:Yes.
Reply:If you want to keep receiving flowers from him, just let him buy flowers for you.
Let him treat you!
I would definitely NOT tell a guy where to order a bouquet for me.
It's sweet that he wants to send you flowers. He probably uses FTD because it's well known.
You telling him exactly what florist to use would possibly hurt his feelings. Try showing him the flowers.
Say "Aren't the flowers you sent to me so beautiful?"
that way he can SEE exactly where his money went. If he says "Oh, I thought it would be bigger..etc.." He'll know to look for or maybe even ask you what florist you use.
I would just let him do things on his own, his own choices.
Maybe that's exactly what he had in mind for you. So assuming he meant bigger etc...may not be a good thing.
If you say "I thought you meant for this bouquet to be bigger
But that is just me.
I like for my man to think/do for himself w/o having to run around behind him saying 'Order my flowers from here.' etc...
If he specifically asks you, then I'd say something...
otherwise, I'd just smile and accept the flowers with excitement and joy!
Reply:Just thank him, and be gracious about it. The next time you are having a conversation, get around to telling him about a good local florist shop that you know, just act like you saw some bouquets they did and they looked really nice, blah, blah, blah. He should get the point.
Reply:i'd tell him.....you sound really considerate and he will most likely be thankful that you were honest with him and that he will not have to empty his wallet again!....good luk
Reply:Tell him !! Also let him know how much you appreciate the flowers, you just didn't want him to waste his money at a bad florist. Maybe walk into a florist with him and comment on how beautiful there flowers always are.
Reply:if u want to get more flowers form him in the future u can just sit back and relax he... on day when ur just sitting there with nothing to do u can simply say WOW those flowers that u got me the other day were abasutly beautiful or when ur outside or at a park and u see flowers u can say those ones are nice and if hes a smart enough of a guy he will get this hint!

Who's in the doghouse this Valentine's Day?
Me for one.
I've been laid up with a stomach bug (haven't been out of the house for 4 days) plus rushed off my feet with our 10 week old baby son, Arthur, and I hadn't got my Other Half anything for Valentine's Day!
He got me cards from both him and Arthur, a big cuddly plush Valentine dog and a **huge** bouquet was delivered to the door just after he left for work!!
I said I was sorry and would get him something for when he came home tonight but he still left the house in high umbridge and not very pleased with me at all.
I rang up a local florist and arranged them to deliver a "man's" bouquet to him at work, plus just popped out and bought him a card and some chocs (he is a chocoholic).
Do you think that'll save me? What else should I do?!?! I feel really bad about it!
Who's in the doghouse this Valentine's Day?
Please do not feel badly, everyone becomes ill on occasion. You could not help it.
I am always in the dog house. I live alone with two lab mixes!!!

Reply:Take away/delivered dinner tonight, whatever his favourite is. Plus maybe have a bath run for him for when he comes in (I know you're pushed for time, but shouldn't take too long).
Get well soon!
Reply:Oh dear. Perhaps he would have preferred if someone had got a card on your behalf and then you sent it to him. However, you've been ill and have a very young baby so you have plenty on your side of the argument! I'm sure you've made up for it - he was just miffed... I guess you need to think about how it would be around the other way - you would probably have made him feel bad wouldn't you?
Reply:rent out his Fav film? Order in his Fav food?
You shouldnt have to feel like this when you are ill! seems he is acting quite selfish, you aint exactly done this on purpose have you. I reckon do both of them tonight, keep him quiet! ;o)
Reply:honey you don't need to be saved! within a relationship there is "intent" your sick------------ you did not "intend" to be sick with a new baby, you did not "intend" to not show appreciation in the way of a gift. if this man is upset then you have two babies. and you need to feel upset with him and have a back bone and say so. Heads up it isn't fun going through life with a big baby as a partner, did it. and glad it's over.
Reply:Ouch. That's unfortunate. However, I think your husband should be at least a LITTLE forgiving. You did just give birth a few months ago, and you've been sick and not out of the house. How far in advance did he expect you plan for today? I think you've done plenty to make up for your slip. Follow it up with a nice surprise dinner tonight for the two of you (can you send a baby that small to be watched by a family member for a few hours?), or surprise him by meeting him at work for lunch.
Happy V-Day!
Reply:Sounds like you got yourself a real prize there!
You've been sick for days, plus you just gave birth to his child, and he's got an attitude?
WAKE UP!!! Don't you see how inconsiderate your "Worst Half" is being, expecting presents from you while you are in this situation?
Reply:He sounds like a pr*ck!
You we're sick and have a new baby. Maybe such an outlandish gesture from him was out of character... what do you get a guy for Valentines day anyway - why don't you have a steamy evening in together tonight.... I bet thats what he's really angling for after you having a baby.

Reply:You mean to tell Me that You forgot to get Him something for Valentine's Day? Public flogging is too good for some people! You do realise that You are never going to live this down, don't You? This will come back to haunt You for years to come. From now on everytime You are running late it will be "Yeah, just like Valentine's Day" (accompanied with a lowering of the face towards the floor, and a slow, sad shake of the head) Or else You will get the old "I remember when She still loved Me" routine in front of His Friends (tears optional).
Now You know what Men have to go through. Forgiveness? What's that? Is it still in Women's vocabularies?
Give Him a book full of "Prepaid in advance I forgive You for whatever it it You did" tickets that He can use the next time He stuffs up! And tell Him that "Valentine's Day is a Girl thing!"

Why is costco, trader joe's,1-800 flowers, and large corporations trying to overshadow flower shops?
I don't understand why large corporations take advantage of small businesses, all those online "florists" like pro-flowers, blooms.net and 1-800 flowers, rip people off.
I ordered a large arrangement from 1-800 flowers and I didn't get the best quality in flowers, I would rather order from a local flower shop now, especiall y those that are family owned.
they give you the best service and products it was worthe the money, pricey, but worth every penny. I still don't understand why some people are still dumb enough to support those large corporations that have no knowledge or passion like a REAL flower shop does. Is it because small flower shops don't have enough money to advertise like large corporations do?

It's called capitalism. Get used to it because it's not going anywhere any time soon.

Where do I get a corsage?
My prom's soon, and I wanted to know what's the best place to get a corsage? Or actually, any option--a local florist, a store, anything. I live in Deerfield Beach, FL, if that helps in making it specific--broad general answers would help too. Thanks.
(The prom's next Friday, by the way.)
Where do I get a corsage?
Here is a list of florists in your area:
http://www.locateaflowershop.com/states/...
I would call a few just to get an idea on prices, selection, etc.
I would definitely buy from a florist and not a store because they're usually hand-crafted and higher quality.
Hope this helps...have fun at prom!
Reply:you can go to your local florist, or store (Hy-Vee)
Reply:They should have them at the grocery store in the floral dept or at a flower shop.
