How many flowers in a bouqet??

I am getting married in February and have decided I want white roses and white lisianthus for my bouqet (thanks to many of you who helped me with my question : ))

I only have my sister as my maid of honor and thats it, so Im wondering, how many roses/lisianthus do I need for my bouqet, and how many for my sisters? (hers should be a little smaller, right?)

If any of you can tell me a range (20-25? etc) that would be great. I am really considering doing them myself as they are the only two bouqets, and having a local florist do the boutineers and corsages, so I will save some money.

Im going to start calling florists in my area and asking them for a price quote for just the bouts and corsages and then one that includes the bouqets to see what it will cost me, I just thought it would be helpful for me to be able to say " I want a hand-tied bouqet of 15 roses and 10 lisianthus" so that I can get a better quote without having to travel from store to store.

How many flowers in a bouqet??
If you're slim, then 15 roses and 10 lizzies will be overwhelming. I think I had about 8-10 roses and 5 lisianthus in my bouquet. I'm also slim (size 1) so a bigger bouquet would look a bit silly and be too heavy.
Reply:I dont know, but the bouquet should be in balance with your body type (height and weight) and your dress type (big and decorative or slim and simple). You dont want it to be too small, or too big for your overall look.
Reply:We did our own flowers for our wedding. I used approximately 35 small calla lilies for my bouquet and approximately 20 for the other bouquet I made. We also made 5 large centerpieces and 10 boutonnieres ourselves. It was actually much easier than I thought it would be. This site (http://www.theknot.com/co_profileview.ht... really helped me with my flowers. I ordered approximately 250 flowers for my wedding and it ended up being about $200 (including shipping). I used www.theflowerexchange.com which I could not have been happier with. The flowers showed up in perfect condition, right on time. They were inexpensive and beautiful. Plus they lasted over 2 weeks. I was so impressed I ordered a bunch of flowers for our Thanksgiving celebration. I cannot say enough good stuff about them.

Good luck!
Reply:Well I based my bouquet on two factors - the style of my dress and how much I wanted to hold.

My dress was very simple so I wanted a small bouquet - I'd been in a wedding party before where I had to carry an extremely heavy bouquet and it was awkward and uncomfortable throughout the wedding. So mine consisted of 7 roses. My aunt was my maid of honor and she carried 5 roses, and my junior bridesmaid carried 3 roses. For us, it was simply perfect.

PS My dress was from Demetrios Bridal too :)
Reply:Girl, I found out that Costco (I hope you have one in your area) does wedding flowers. They have a small package (9 pieces) for like $229 and they're beautiful. I'm going to use them for my wedding in May. You get:

1 Bridal bouquet (25 roses)

2 Brides Maid bouquets (18 roses per bouquet)

2 Corsages

4 Attendant boutonnieres

Good Luck!
Reply:if your are speaking to florists, just come up with how large you would like it to be. bowling ball sized, salad plate sized, or just a diameter, they will know approximately how many flowers to put in it.

I am having 17 calla lilies in my bouquet, my girls are carrying 6 roses, 2 callas.
Reply:I am pretty sure my florist said mine will have 17...or is it 14...anyway, some where around there. Mine will be just roses, no other flowers or greenery.
Reply:look at flower arrangement photos this will give you a better insight into what your looking for
Reply:Id have to say the typical number of flowers in a boquet is 12 or 6
Reply:I think i might have between 6-8 flowers in my bouquet maybe more but I have alot of ivy in it too to fill....my girls are just going to have plan roses
